 Purpose:  To provide a safe and plentiful supply of high quality
     water for the citizens of Bellville and to successfully operate a
     wastewater system that not only provides quality service but 
     protects our environment and  waterways.

Facts About Water

• 34 billion gallons per day is processed for domestic and public use.
• Humans can survive a month without food but only 5-7 days without water.
• The Great Lakes contain 20% of the worlds available fresh water.
• Each person uses between 60-100 gallons per day at home.

 
Village of Bellville Water Source

The Village of Bellville presently operates two 12" wells that are 
approximately 92' deep. They are capable of producing about 
1,000,000 gallons per day.

         Water is then pumped into three storage tanks. Their 
         combined storage capacity is  544,000 gallons . 
         The Average Daily Use for Bellville is 195,000 gallons per day.

         The EPA requires regular sampling to ensure drinking 
         water safety. The Village conducts sampling on hundreds 
         of contaminates and none were found to be above their
         requirements.

 Water Rate Information:                Minimum Quarterly Water and Sewer Bill: $36.00
$2.60/thousand gals. Residential           $15.60 Water (6000 gal. min.)
$1.75/thousand gals. Residential after exceeding 6000 gal.
$1.16/thousand gals. Commercial          $20.40 Sewer (6000 gal. min.)

***The single most thing causing high water bills in a home is a leaking toilet.
***Helpful hint: Place a couple drops of food coloring in toilet tank and let sit
    undisturbed. Color will appear in the bowl if  the toilet has a leak.

Sewer Tap: $400.00 
Water tap: $300.00  3/4" line. Includes the tap, corp stop, 
curb stop, curb box, up to 60' of copper from the main to
 the curb stop, meter, tail pieces, and remote reader.

 Fees for lines over 3/4" are for permit to tap into line only. 
No material, tapping, or meters are supplied by the Village.
